Apple TV streams purchased TV shows — not just rentals — from the cloud after update
Aug 1st

Don’t think Apple’s forgotten about its little hobby, as the second generation Apple TV is getting an update today that lets users buy TV shows and stream them (in high definition) directly to the device, with the additional bonus of streaming access to previously purchased shows. That brings a new feeling of permanence to the cloud atmosphere around Apple’s hockey puck, but it also means being .99 invested in rewatching that episode of Leverage down the road instead of opting for for a 99-cent rental. The other new feature listed for this update is access to the streaming site Vimeo, but since the official support site is still only listing info for the 4.2.2 version posted in May, any other details are unknown so far.

Samsung Galaxy R Shows Up On Video
Jul 25th
The good people at Samsung Hub, the all-things Samsung blog, have gotten hold of a Samsung Galaxy R demonstration video, suggesting that the device is on its way to being official very soon. The Galaxy R is essentially a cost effective version of the Samsung Galaxy S II for those of us who are rather attached to our currency.

In an effort to shake things up, it looks like the United States is last in line to receive this latest Galaxy device, with Europe, China, Southwest Asia and the Middle East ahead of us in line. It’s like the Samsung Galaxy S all over again. And the Galaxy S II.
According to Samsung Hub, the Galaxy R should be officially announced very soon. Specs-wise, the Galaxy R features a 4.2-inch display, 1GHz dual-core CPU and a 5MP camera.
