Samsung Galaxy S III found hiding in Vietnam
Apr 22nd

We’re less than two weeks away from Samsung unveiling the Galaxy S III so it should come as no surprise if we were to see a series of rapid leaks. And why not? Someone, somewhere, has to be testing the coveted handset in the wild. The latest, and perhaps most legitimate, leak seems to indicate that the Galaxy S III is in Vietnam and hiding in plastic shell.
Tech site Tinhte is reporting that they have received a GT-I9300 and even recorded a video to prove it. According to them, the Galaxy S III has a 4.6-inch display with 1184X720p resolution (~320ppi), a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU, Android 4.0.3, 1GB RAM, and 16GB storage. Additional details include microSD expansion card slot and a 2050mAh battery with NFC support.
Engadget reached out to Samsung to see if they would shed some light on the new details and found the handset maker naturally coy.
“We will be able to tell you more at the 2012 Samsung Mobile Unpacked.”
As excited as we are about these details, we cannot wait to see what Samsung gives us on May 3rd. If not because of how awesome the phone will be, but because we’re tired of so many rumors hitting the internet.

Samsung begins countdown to Galaxy S3, anagram a start to an online treasure hunt?
Apr 22nd
Samsung sure is putting in a ton of marketing effort for the latest sequel to their flagship Galaxy S line. After a series of leaks, they finally announced an invite to their event on the 3rd of May.

They began with their teasing yesterday, posting this image above which quite clearly shows the outlines of a cellphone. Today, they posted a rather simple anagram on their Twitter account that simply read Destination: tgeltaayehxnx.

Solution? The Next Galaxy. They’ve also registered a domain, tgeltaayehxnx.com, where they’ve posted a countdown to the next clue. I also fiddled around a little and visited thenextgalaxy.com, which is currently password protected. Checking the whois database led me to a Singapore-based marketing company, The Upper Storey. Who owns tgeltaayehxnx.com? The same agency.
Looks like we’re in for an online treasure hunt, people. Excited?
Samsung countdown teases next Galaxy phone with anagram
Apr 22nd

Sammy’s latest marketing ploy kicked off with a string of nonsense that could just as easily have come from the Sunday morning jumble: “Destination: tgeltaayehxnx,” declared the Samsung Mobile Twitter account. Anagram wizards will read that as, “the next Galaxy,” and wouldn’t you know it, it’s also the URL for a auspicious countdown clock. Sammy promises to let visitors take “the next step” in about 17 hours and counting. Bonafide internet sleuths can find an extra carrot strung up in the site’s source, reading, “discover how Samsung is about to challenge the way you view the Galaxy once more.” Is Samsung about to break its own May 3rd unveiling? We’ll let you know in 16 hours and change.

Samsung could also be unveiling a new tablet during its May 3rd London event
Apr 22nd

As it goes with Samsung Galaxy S devices, the rumor and leak mill has been going at full throttle for months. Rumors have come and gone, but everything started looking brighter after London’s May 3rd invitations started being sent. Soon afterwards, images and videos started leaking out. Albeit without the final design. Surely, Galaxy S III (or whatever it will be called) will be quite the sensation. But according to the latest rumors, it is not coming alone.
CNET’s sources are stating that Samsung will also unveil a 10.1-inch tablet during this event. This will probably be unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, which is rumored to be delayed for a quad-core processor upgrade. Instead, this seems to be a dual-core tablet.
This is still a rumor, and should be taken with the usual dose of salt. No other details are known. And after being contacted, Samsung told CNET that they knew nothing (of course). But if this happens to be true, we could have yet another Galaxy Tab coming to our nearest stores.

Samsung teases us with a bit of Samsung Galaxy S III goodness
Apr 22nd

Most of us are biting our nails, eagerly waiting for the release of the next Samsung Galaxy S device. Whether it is called the Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S II Plus or Galaxy S Awesome, it will more than likely rock. Samsung knows how much we love the leaks, rumors and teases, so they have decided to give us one of their own.
Samsung Denmark’s Facebook has recently posted the above image. Which has what we believe to be the Galaxy S III under a veil. Only the external shape is noticeable, so the device’s design is still a mystery. We have seen leaked images and videos, but those devices do not sport the device’s final design. Samsung has really been keeping this one well hidden.
Something we did find weird is the image’s date and time. We know that this device should be unveiled at Samsung’s May 3rd London event. But the timing on this teaser seems to be a bit off. It says it will be at hour 20:00 (8 pm), but the invitation states that the even starts at hour 19:00. Maybe that will be when the event ends, and it is all announced (maybe along with a new tablet). It could also just be the time difference, especially since this Facebook page is location-specific.
Regardless, this is not really great news, but it is a good tease (as mentioned in the title). If you would like to take a peek under the covers, you could also check out the images and video that have been leaked out. Those will provide a much deeper look into what is to come.

Samsung to unveil new 10.1-inch tablet, cloud services on May 3?
Apr 20th

Word on the street this afternoon is that Samsung will be unveiling yet another Android-based tablet at their May 3 Unpacked event. According to “sources familiar with the matter”, Samsung is readying a dual-core Galaxy Tab with a 10.1-inch display. And no, this is not the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 – that’s said to be getting tweaked to include quad-core CPU before it arrives.
As to what this device will be and what’s it’s called remains to be seen, however this will probably lead to confusion among consumers. When it’s all said and done, we’re hoping for a low-cost alternative to lesser known brands.
Also rumored to be on the agenda for May 3rd is a Samsung cloud service for file storage. Much like Apple has with their iCloud service, Samsung would allow for users to back up files with a minimum of 5GB of storage. It’s unclear as to whether additional, larger options will be available at a premium however we’d certainly hope so. While nothing has been outlined in an official capacity, it’s suggested that Samsung’s service would not limit the types of files backed up, opening the door to more than just photos and videos.
